Pennsylvanians are required to wear face coverings in public settings, including in grocery stores, convenience stores, pharmacies, doctor’s offices, and on public transportation.

Homemade Cloth Face Coverings Can Be Used

The CDC advises the use of simple cloth face coverings slows the spread of the virus and help people who may have the virus and do not know it from transmitting it to others.  Cloth face coverings fashioned from household items or made at home from common materials at low cost can be used as an additional, voluntary public health measure.

Make A Cloth Face Coverings Using A Bandana

Materials Needed:

  • Bandana
  • Rubber Bands (or hair ties)

Instructions:

  1. Fold bandana in half
  2. Fold top down and fold bottom up
  3. Place rubber bands or hair ties about 6 inches apart
  4. Fold sides to the middle
  5. Tuck sides
  6. Place mask over face and nose then wrap rubber bands around ears
